About Peeblesshire Youth Trust

What We Do

Peeblesshire Youth Trust supports young people from Primary 6 across all of Tweeddale, through to S2 at Peebles High School. We help to boost confidence and self-esteem, as well as building resilience and enhancing social skills, to smoothen the transition from primary to secondary school.

We deliver a variety of programmes including “Achieve Your Potential” workshops, regular group activity sessions, one-to-one mentoring, primary-secondary transition support sessions, in-school programmes and delivery of Christmas hampers to local families. Most of our activities are held in the local community, at various halls or outdoor spaces around Tweeddale. All sessions are free for young people to attend, and are planned around having fun whilst making new friends and learning new skills!

PYT Mission Statement

Peeblesshire Youth Trust will empower our community by providing a facility for support to young people and their families. We will develop confidence and resilience in our community by promoting participation and inclusion. At all times we will be helpful, approachable and non-judgemental.

Our Vision

Our vision is that Peeblesshire Youth Trust will nurture, support, engage and encourage 10-14 year olds throughout Tweeddale to build resilience and help to achieve their potential. We will support our young people to develop good relationships with peers and families and to make a positive impact in their community. We are unique in providing individual mentoring alongside a range of other confidence-building activities to young people throughout Tweeddale.
