Helen got involved with PYT shortly after moving to Peebles in 2013 as a way to get to know her local community better, and she has been involved with the charity ever since, mainly as a mentor. Her career has centred around project management and communications and she has worked for organisations including the Department for Education and Skills and British Council. Before moving to Peebles, she lived in Sweden for 9 years and continues to work remotely for a Swedish non-profit organisation. With two children of her own, she recognises the vital work that PYT does to boost the confidence of young people and support their transition to high school. Helen joined the PYT Board of Trustees in 2021 and became Chair in 2022.
