Scottish Mentoring Network Awards

Peeblesshire Youth Trust has recently won two awards at the Scottish Mentoring Network National Recognition Awards.

The first was for our primary school programme, Achieve Your Potential(AYP) which won Mentoring for Children Project of the Year 2012.

The board and staff would like to thank all of the volunteers who have contributed to the success of this project either through mentoring, help with the delivery of our programmes or with ad hoc support in schools. We also thank the funders, businesses and individuals who have supported our work over the years to enable us to develop and continue our mentoring support.

Our second award was awarded to PYT volunteer, Dave Hodson.

Dave was a volunteer on our AYP programme in spring 2011. He currently mentors a child, has planned and delivered cookery sessions for mentors and mentees, helped with both group work and 1:1 support at high school. Everything Dave does is with a positive attitude and with bounds of energy and enthusiasm.

I always receive positive feedback from children, volunteers, schools and other organisations who work with Dave. I am therefore delighted that Dave received an ‘Exceptional Contribution Award 2012’ Congratulations and well deserved!
